  1. Personal Statement

As a university lecturer, I have been able to advance and diffuse knowledge through teaching of several Applied Geomatics courses at the university level in the past Fourteen (14) years. As a service to the scientific community, I have served actively in various local and international as member of local organizing committee, volunteer to serve in not-to-profit organizations. I have mentored over 35 undergraduate and 20 postgraduate students from the Department of Surveying and Geoinformatics, University of Lagos, Federal University of Technology, Minna and from other departments and institutions different from where I work.

My research emphasis is on coastal ecosystem, dynamics of the coastal environment and environmental management. However I am quite competent Geomatics, Applied Geomatics, Marine Science, Geospatial Analysis, Remote Sensing, Coastal Dynamics, Climate Change, Environmental Pollution, Ecosystem Dynamics and frontier in Earth Sciences knowledge domains. I have an outstanding academic research record in these research areas and I have carried out and published works of international standard.

I have worked with various conventional and sustainable environmental technologies to monitor, manage and proffer solution to coastal environmental problems. Lastly, my teaching philosophy is to promote independent thoughts and critical reasoning skills in my through established and relevant pedagogical teaching methods, such as constructivism, behaviourism, and liberationism, among others.
