Personal Statement

I am a Professor of Electrical Power and Energy Systems Engineering with a deep commitment to sustainable energy development, energy access, and power systems optimization in Nigeria and Africa. With over two decades of academic, research, and professional experience, my work bridges academia, industry, and policy through innovative research in energy management, renewable energy systems, smart grids, and energy transition strategies. I have been involved in projects on solar electrification, energy management, and just energy transitions. I am passionate about capacity building, curriculum reform, and practical training for engineers to meet Nigeria’s energy needs. My professional contributions extend to serving on State/national energy summits, accreditation panels, and mentoring the next generation of African energy leaders.
