  1. Personal Statement:

Dr. Henry Mgbemere is an associate professor in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at the University of Lagos, Nigeria. His research interests include the use of traditional and advanced ceramics to solve problems in biomedical, mining, catalytic, clean air, and aluminium alloys research. His research activities include: the development of lead-free piezoelectric ceramics as actuators, sensors, and electromechanical devices, the use of locally available kaolin deposits to produce different types of zeolites, beneficiation of barite mineral ores to improve their BaSO4 concentration, production of cordierites from locally available research, production of dental porcelain and composites from local material, modelling and experiment of aluminium alloys. He has been teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels for many years and has supervised over 40 undergraduate students, 25 M.Sc. students and co-supervised 4 Ph.D. students.
