National Association of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Students NAMMES President 2019/2020

I am Kassim Kehinde, NAMMES (Unilag chapter) president for 2019/20, and I’m a final year Metallurgical and Materials Engineering student. NAMMES is a student society that aims to give undergraduates the best university experience by providing a means to balance academic/career and social events.

The Student Executives organize programmes such as seminars, quizzes, career talk and industrial visits. Our previous events are accessible on our Instagram page @Unilag_nammes

UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMME

Currently, there is only one undergraduate programme in the Department, i.e., Bachelor of Science in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. We hope that a new programme in Polymer Engineering, which has been approved by the University Senate, will come on board. To graduate from the programme, students are expected to write and pass all the compulsory courses and the minimum number of electives required. For more information, contact the coordinator: jagboola@unilag.edu.ng

POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMME

The department’s postgraduate programmes include the Postgraduate Diploma (PGD), Master of Science (M.Sc.), Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. With the exception of the PGD programme, all the other programmes are currently run on a full-time basis. Efforts are being made to ensure that these programmes can also be run on a part-time basis.
